26 Jan The Fight Plan: Who’s Plan are you Following?
Everyone who has ever won a fight has specific strategies and tactics they use. What are your strategies and tactics for winning the spiritual fight of your life? In order to win the fight and have an effective plan you must know these three things:
1.) You must know your enemy
Many lose the fight because they do not know who their enemy is or they have been listening and sleeping with the enemy.
How do I know who the enemy is?
You learn who the enemy is through the word of God. 1 John 4:1 tells us not to believe every spirit but to try the spirit and to see if it is of God. Try the word and then use God’s word against the enemy.
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
-2 Corinthians 10:5
2.) You must know yourself
Some people loose the fight because they do no know themselves and they are busy listening to everyone else’s opinion and advice. When you do not know your own self this will cause you to deceive yourself. Your worse enemy is not the devil but yourself. No matter who you fight or what you fight the worst opponent will always be the person that looks back at you in the mirror. If you do not win the fight that goes on inside of your head you will lose the battle before you even step into the ring to fight.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
– Jeremiah 17:9
Once you get to know yourself you then have to condition yourself to trust in the Lord and lean not to your own understanding. Some days you will have to ask yourself is this my flesh talking or is this God talking.
3.) You must know your God
Finally you have to know who God is to understand your plan. Reading God’s written word allows you to understand and build a relationship with God. Another way of getting to know God is by hearing the word being preached or taught.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Once you know God’s written word and hear God’s spoken word you can then become victorious because you now understand that God has a plan for you that is working for your good.
